Both teams have been playing to some lower-scoring affairs of late, but I say that trend changes this afternoon.
The Reds go with Tyler Mahle, who is 10-4 with a 3.69 ERA. He's off a good start against the Brewers, allowing one run over five innings. Mahle's been sharp of late, and good on the road, but if he has one knock about him this season, it's his performance in all DAY games, as he's 5-0 with a 2.82 ERA in all NIGHT contests, and only 5-4 with a 4.97 ERA in all NIGHT games.
The Marlins go with Jesus Luzardo, who is 4-7 with a 7.91 ERA and who most recently got rocked for five runs off ten hits over four innings in a loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.
Since coming over to Miami at the trade deadline, Luzardo has allowed 24 runs over 22 innings of work.
This posted total is now just a little TOO low. Look for these starters to get chased early and for that to result in this one flying OVER the posted number.
