ASA TOP PLAY 10* ON Run Line: Cincinnati Reds (-1.5 runs) over Pittsburgh Pirates, Saturday at 6:10 PM ET

The Pirates lost to the Reds 8-1 yesterday as their miserable season continues. Pittsburgh is now 4-14 on the season and they have lost 11 of their past 13 games. 5 of the Pirates last 6 defeats have come by a margin of 3 or more runs. Per our computer math model, this one will too and that is why we're grabbing the run line (-1.5 runs) with Cincinnati in this one and expecting a home blowout. The Reds came into this season with lofty expectations and have underachieved but they are showing signs of turning the corner. They have won 4 of their past 6 divisional games and all 4 wins came by a margin of 3 or more runs. With Trevor Bauer (he certainly has NOT underachieved) the Reds should dominate in this game. Bauer has logged 19 and 1 / 3 innings so far this season and allowed just 7 hits while striking out 32 (yes, 32!) in those outings. More of the same expected here. He'll be opposed by the Pirates Steven Brault. The Pittsburgh left-hander compiled a 5.86 ERA in road games last season and opponents hit .301 against him away from home. Brault has allowed 4 earned runs in 2 innings spanning his last two outings. It is unlikely he will last long in this start and the Pirates bullpen is certainly not a strength. In fact, Pittsburgh has a 5.55 team ERA which ranks among the worst in the majors. The Pirates .211 batting average on the season ranks them dead last in the National League. Blowout alert! Bet the Cincinnati Reds -1.5 runs in early evening action Saturday.
