The Detroit Tigers had Monday off after getting swept by the Indians over the weekend. They'll face a hot team in the Miami Marlins that have won seven of their past 10 games and just took three of four from the Cubs.
The Tigers send Mike Pelfrey (1-7, 4.91) to the hill. Pelfrey pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief last Friday and allowed just three hits in perhaps his best performance of the season. He's been atrocious as a starter though and 1-9 with a 5.40 ERA in 18 career starts against Miami.
The Fish turn to left-hander Adam Conley (4-4, 3.56 ERA) who's allowed only one run on five hits through 13 2/3 innings in his last two starts combined. He's is 2-1 with a 3.83 ERA in eight starts on the road and will this will mark his first career meeting with Detroit.
Tigers are 1-5 in their last six games following an off day.
