The Bruins managed to beat Pepperdine by 9 points even though UCLA trailed at the half AND the game was tied at the end of regulation AND tied at the end of first overtime AND tied at end of second overtime too! That's right, as you can see the Bruins had no business beating Pepperdine by more than the 7.5 point line on that game. Now they are laying 17.5 against Long Beach State. Last season when these teams met the Bruins actually trailed by 6 points at the half and only won the game by 4 points. Long Beach State was also a 17 point dog in that game and, as you can see, they easily covered. That said, I really like the big dog value here as UCLA lost by double digits to San Diego State in their season opener even though they were the favorite in that game. Then, like I said above, the Bruins followed that up with a miracle cover against Pepperdine. Take advantage of the fantastic line value here, as just like the Waves approached facing UCLA, Long Beach State wants to take it to the "big school" in the area here in a "David vs Goliath" type of match-up here.
