The Syracuse Orange are one of the hottest teams in the country, and they come into Louisville tonight as winners of eight of their last nine overall. The Cardinals on the other hand are coming off back-to-back losses. I think Louisville is being asked to cover a few too many points here in this rivalry game. My money is on the Orange.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Previous History - While Louisville has won eight of 12 in conference play, the Cardinals have not been covering the spread during that span. They are just 4-10 ATS in their last 14 overall, and they've failed to cover in five of their last six against teams with a winning record.
2. Situational/Motivational - The Orange have plenty at stake here, with a chance to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinal will be serving a self imposed post-season ban, and since the announcement they have lost two of three.
3. X-Factor - The Orange have covered the spread in four straight road games, and seven of their last nine overall.
