Rogers' 10* LONDON CALLING >> Giants Last Week!
(NFL) Washington vs. Cincinnati, 10/30/2016 5:30 AM, Score: 27 - 27
Point Spread: -3.00 | -105.00 Cincinnati (Home)
Result: Loss
The set-up: The 4-3 Redskins take on the 3-4 Bengals early on Sunday, as the NFL is playing a game in London's Wembley Stadium for the second straight week. Washington head coach Jay Gruden served as the Bengals' OC for three seasons (2011-13) under head coach Marvin Lewis, helping to develop Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton. Now, he needs to beat him in a game critical for both teams' playoff chances. The Redskins opened 0-2 but had won won four straight before losing to Detroit in the final seconds last Sunday and trail the 5-1 Cowboys and 4-2 Eagles in the suddenly verpo competitive NFC East the NY gainsta are also 4-3). The Bengals are coming off a win over the Browns, leaving them tied with the Ravens and just one game behind the 4-3 Steelers. They still have four games remaining in the division, as they seek a sixth straight playoff berth.

Washington: The Redskins gained 417 yards against the Lions but scored just 17 points in the three-point loss. The lack of point-production was due in part to losing two fumbles, one by Matt Jones that Detroit recovered in their own end zone. Jones, in just his second season, has lost eight fumbles his 20 career games. Kirk Cousins completed 30 of 38 passes for 301 yards (1 TD / 0 INTs) but again Washington's red zone TD percentage of 42.9 ranks in the bottom-five of the NFL. Washington, which ranks 6th in total offense (390.9 YPG) needs to improve it's red zone play, as the team is scoring just 22.7 PPG to rank only 17th.

Cincinnati: The Bengals, like the Redskins, own red zone troubles (same 42.9 TD percentage) which has led them to average only 20.0 PPG (23rd), despite ranking 5th in total offense at 392.9 YPG. However, Cincy had few problems last Sunday with the hapless Browns, rolling up 559 yards in a 31-17 home win. Dalton threw for 308 yards (2 TDs / 0 INTs) and now has six TD passes and no picks in his last four games, finishing with a QB rating above 100 in each. He's thrown for 2,065 yards on the season, putting him on pace to pass for 4,720 yards, which would shatter his team record for passing yards in a season (4,293). Cincinnati has allowed just 15.3 PPG in beating sub-.500 teams like the Jets, Dolphins and Browns but is 0-4 against Dallas, New England, Pittsburgh and Denver.

The pick: Key Washington players like TE Jordan Reed (concussion) and CB Josh Norman (concussion, wrist) were allowed to accompany the team to London on Thursday but coach Jay Gruden admitted that "we'll keep a close eye on them." The Redskins are 8-2 SU the past 10 times in an underdog role but Dalton and the entire Bengals offense just may have found themselves last week (559 yards and 31 points), albeit vs. the Browns. Make Cincinnati a 10* play.
