Rogers' *10* NFL Game of the Week >> 1 PM ET GAME!
(NFL) Oakland vs. Tampa Bay, 10/30/2016 9:00 AM, Score: 30 - 24
Point Spread: -1.00 | -102.00 Oakland (Away)
Result: Win
The set-up: The Oakland Raiders beat the Jaguars 33-16 in Jacksonville last Sunday and have spent the entire time since in the state of Florida and will now take on the Bucs this Sunday in Tampa. Jack Del Rio's new team gave him a win Sunday in Jacksonville against his old team and the Raiders trained at IMG Academy in Bradenton this week to prepare Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. The surprising Raiders are 5-2 and look to keep the positive mojo up against the Bucs, who evened their record at 3-3 last Sunday with a 34-17 win at the struggling 1-6 49ers out in San Francisco.

Oakland: Then Raiders have been able to win five of seven games despite ranking 32nd in total defense (430.4 YPG) and passing defense (302.1 YPG). There is a possibility the club could receive help down the stretch in the form of linebacker Aldon Smith, who has applied for reinstatement with the league once his one-year suspension for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse expires on Nov. 17. Oakland's countered its poor defensive play with excellent play from QB Derek Carr (65.9% with a 13-3 ratio) plus the Raiders possesses one of the league's best receiving duos in Amari Cooper (40 catches / 15.4 YPC and Michael Crabtree (39 catches and 6 TDs), who are first in receptions (79), third-down yards (375) and third-down conversions (22). Also, the running game is up to 114.9 YPG on 4.7 YPC, after averaging 91.1 YPG on 3.9 YPC last season and 77.5 YPG on 3.7 YPC in 2014 (ranked 32nd in rushing that year).

Tampa Bay: Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter and DC Mike Smith were coordinators together on Del Rio's Jaguars staff in 2007, part of a team that won 11 games and a playoff game as well. "I learned a ton from Jack," Koetter said Wednesday. "Both Jack and Mike Smith came out of the Brian Billick tree when they won the Super Bowl up in Baltimore. I was a pretty organized guy when I was a college coach, but NFL-style, I learned a lot about that from Jack. I was fortunate to come out of college and get with a guy like that." Tampa Bay will be counting on RB Jacquizz Rodgers to shred Oakland's rushing defense, which ranks 28th (128.3 YPG), as the 26-year-old has gained 101 and a career-high 154 yards in the last two games while filling in for the injured Doug Martin. QB Jameis Winston passed for 281 yards with four TDs against the 49ers and gets a shot here vs. Oakland's NFL-worst pass D. WR Mike Evans (40 catches, 545 yards & 6 TDs) is on pace for 1,459 receiving yards and 16 TDs, both of which would be franchise single-season records.

The pick: This already marks the fifth road game for Oakland in 2016 and all have been early start times for the West Coast Raiders but all have also been Oakland victories. Sure, none of the four wins have come against a winning opponent but 4-0 SU on the road is, 4-0 SU on the road. After all, the Raiders did go 5-3 ATS on the road last season, as a preview of thing to come. Plus, they are playing the Bucs, who are 0-2 SU & ATS at home this season and enter this game having lost 15 of their last 18 home games going back to the start of the 2014 season! Despite their problems defensively, the Raiders are plus-8 in turnover margin, as they have recorded 13 takeaways through seven contests. Oakland is a 10* play.
