The Cards swept Milwaukee in St. Louis last week, but they came out on the wrong end of a 4-3 game in the series opener here at Miller Park. I like the visitors to draw even here with a win in Game 2.
Carlos Martinez will toe the slab for St. Louis, and he's having a career year. Martinez (7-6, 2.90 ERA) allowed three runs on nine hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a loss to the Pirates his last time out. He's been very good on the road, going 4-1 with a 1.70 ERA in six starts. One of those was a win at Miller Park, where he tossed eight scoreless innings.
The Brewers hand the ball to Chase Anderson, who has been roughed up all season. Anderson (4-9, 5.49 ERA) gave up three runs on four hits and five walks over just 4 1/3 innings in a loss to St. Louis his last time out.
The Cardinlals have hit Anderson pretty hard, batting .310 over a combined 71 at bats.
