Vince Velasquez will toe the slab for the Phillies, and he hasn't missed many bats lately. Velasquez (2-1, 4.25 ERA) has allowed 11 runs on 15 hits over 12 innings in his last three starts.
The Giants hand the ball to Johnny Cueto, who is coming off back to back losses. Cueto (4-3, 4.00 ERA) has allowed nine runs on 15 hits over 9 2/3 innings in his last two starts.
There is no question that scoring is up significantly since the ban on sticky substances for major league pitchers.
