Peter Lambert is set to make his major league pitching debut. He had a 5.07 ERA in 11 Triple-A starts this season. Lambert is getting the call because the Rockies want to give Jon Gray extra rest to recover from a blister.

I'm not expecting much from Lambert against a Cubs lineup that has produced 23 runs in their last three games.

The Rockies have lost seven of their last nine road games. They face Jose Quintana, who usually pitches better at home. Chicago is 21-8 in Quintana's last 29 home starts. He has a 2.84 home ERA this year.

The Cubs are fired-up about news breaking that they had signed free agent closer Craig Kimbrel. So they should be in a good frame of mind to sweep the Rockies.
