The visitors hand the ball to Clayton Kershaw (5-5, 3.33 ERA) who gave up three earned runs in a 4-2 loss to the Cubs on Monday. Kershaw has been fairly average this year, but has to be liking his chances here throwing opposite Tom Koehler (5-4, 3.76 ERA) who was scratched from his last start due to shoulder pain and who owns a 2-3, 5.75 ERA in all "day" games this season. A tough spot for Koehler to come back in, I think we clearly have not seen the best of Kershaw yet this season, but it's still hard to explain the reigning Cy Young Award winners poor play this year. I think the writing is on the wall and fully expect to see some runs put on the board today, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
