This is a 5* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the LA Dodgers.
I believe the clear talent discrepancy on the mound today absolutely justifies in laying this larger price. The visitors send ace Clayton Kershaw (15-3, 1.82 ERA) to the hill, who will be out to avenge a May 17th loss in Arizona in which he gave up seven runs in an 18-7 setback. Since that rare poor effort, Kershaw has posted a minuscule 1.37 ERA in 17 starts, including going 6-0 with an 0.88 ERA over his last seven away from friendly confines (note that Kershaw's ERA and 0.83 WHIP are the lowest in all of baseball). Kershaw comes in with momentum as well, he gave up one run and struck out ten over eight frames in his team's 2-1 win over the Friars on Thursday. The Dodgers also look to carry some momentum over here after bashing the Diamondbacks 9-5 yesterday. Arizona has lost eight of ten coming in and turns to Wade Miley (7-9, 4.29 ERA) who is 0-3 with a 5.18 ERA over his last six starts vs. LA. Unfortunately a date at home is not what the doctor ordered for Miley, he's just 2-6 with a ballooned 6.20 ERA in 13 starts in Arizona this season. For the most part, MLB handicapping is almost entirely about starting pitching, I think Kershaw is a bit undervalued here, I have no problem laying the price; play on the DODGERS.
