AAA's GOOD OLD FASHIONED A.L. BUTT WHOOPIN' *SPECIAL!*
(MLB) Tampa Bay vs. Baltimore, 08/25/2014 3:05 PM, Score: 1 - 9
Money Line: -127.00 Baltimore (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* BUTT WHOOPIN on the Baltimore Orioles.

Chris Tillman has been quietly dominating for a while now and is getting little respect in this spot; when you also throw in the fact that the O's were just embarrased in a three-game sweep on the road vs. the lowly Cubbies, I believe we're getting fantastic line value on the under appreciated home side. Another setback would represent Baltimore's worst stretch of the year, so suffice it to say, I don't think we need to question or wonder whether or note the home side is going to be focused on the task at hand today. "Every team this time of year has some challenges physically and mentally and emotionally," said Orioles' manager Buck Showalter last night. "You get on the plane, you head toward some friendly faces and hopefully we can get back to feeling good about postgame." And a date at home is just what the doctor ordered for Baltimore to get untracked, it's won 15 of its last 20 at Camden Yards. The O's have also won each of Tillman's last five starts in which he's gone a sparkling 3-0 with a tiny 2.14 ERA; most recently Tillman would give up one run off three scattered hits over eight frames to beat the White Sox 5-1 on Tuesday. Tillman has in fact given up three earned runs or fewer in each of his 13 starts in Baltimore, posting a highly respectable 2.76 ERA in the process. While past success guarantees nothing in the future, note that Tillman will be throwing with the added confidence today in knowing that when he faced the Rays on June 27th, he dominated them, giving up one run over eight innings in the 4-1 victory. The pitcher throwing opposite Tillman in that contest was Jake Odorizzi (9-10, 3.83 ERA) who will also get the start today; Odorizzi has been hit-or-miss all year and is coming off an outing to forget in which he gave up three runs over six innings in his team's 6-0 loss to Detroit. It's true that Odorizzi has been decent on the road this year, but note that this is definitely a matchup issue for him, he's gone 0-1 with a 3.52 ERA in three matchups vs. the O's this season. The Rays have won three of their last four in Baltimore, but I think that just adds fuel to the fire for the home side tonight. A plethora of favorable factors collide making the ORIOLES the sharp wager in this contest.
