This is a 10* TOTAL ART OF WAR on the OVER between the OK Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.

This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:

As note that Oklahoma City has seen the total go OVER the number in interestingly three of its last five against poor defensive teams which allow 106 plus points per contest, while Cleveland has seen the total go OVER the posted number in three of four already this year after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERs and in eight of 14 non-conference games overall.

The bottom line: The Thunder have been getting the job done most nights with their stifling defensive play, limiting teams to under 100 PPG. The Cavs are one of the league's highest scoring teams, but they rank in the bottom third on the defensive side of the ball. Cleveland broke a four-game slide with a less than convincing 104-103 win over the Magic in their last game, after having a 20 point lead at the break. We can expect a similar effort here from Cleveland, except this time the home side will look to keep the pressure on from start to finish. It's not like the Thunder don't have the firepower to match pace. When you add it all up, this number is indeed a little low. Play the OVER.
