This is a 10* TOTAL ART OF WAR on the OVER between the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics.
Both starters come in off good starts to the 2017 campaign, but we think this number is still a little low.
Dallas Keuchel: He's 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA. On Saturday he gave up one run off two hits with one walk over seven innings in what turned out to be an unfortunate no-decision. Keuchel won the Cy Young in 2015, but took a major step back last season. So far he's looked good this year, but we'll caution in remembering that he was just 5-7 with a poor 5.42 ERA on the road last season.
Kendall Graveman: He's 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA. He gave up one run off two hits and one walk across seven innings in a win over the Rangers on Saturday. Note though that he was 6-8 with a 3.92 ERA in all "night" games a year ago.
The bottom line: Two red hot hurlers facing a couple of struggling offenses. Note though that Houston has seen the total go OVER the number in three of its last four when playing with a day off after scoring ten or more runs in its previous contest, while Oakland has seen the total go OVER the number in three of its last four after scoring one run or less in its previous outing. We expect these two hungry line-ups to chase these starters early and look for this total to go OVER as it comes down the stretch.
