EARLY A.L. TOTAL "ART OF THE GAME!" (CA$H BEFORE WORKDAY IS THROUGH!)
(MLB) Minnesota vs. Detroit, 04/12/2017 9:10 AM, Score: 3 - 5
Total: 8.50 | -113.00 Under
Result: Loss
This is an 8* TOTAL ART OF THE GAME on the OVER between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers.

For the most part MLB handicapping comes down to the starting pitching. Michael Fulmer looked fantastic in his opener, but Twins' start Kyle Gibson was shelled. After these teams combined for just three total runs in Detroit's 2-1 victory yesterday afternoon, we're expecting significantly more production on Wednesday.

Gibson: He was shelled for three runs off five hits, including two dingers, along with two walks over five innings in a fortunate no-decision against the soft-hitting Royals on Thursday. Last year Gibson was 6-11 with a 5.07 ERA, including just 4-7 with a 5.35 ERA in all "day" games.

Fulmer: He gave up no runs off four hits and two walks over six frames in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Friday. Fulmer had a 4-0 lead heading into the eighth, but then his bullpen would implode. It's hard to say anything negative about Fulmer, so we won't.

The bottom line: Note that Minnesota has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 11 against right-handed starters, while Detroit has seen the total go OVER in 71 of its last 119 day games. Fulmer is tough, but we think Minnesota puts a couple on the board today and that should be more than enough to help push this one OVER once it's all said and done.
