Cole Hamels: He was shelled for four runs off five hits and a walk over six innings against the Tribe on Wednesday. Hamels was 15-5 with a 3.32 ERA last year, but he's now 33 years old. Note that his WHIP has now climbed in consecutive seasons.
Tyler Skaggs: He was rocked for five runs off five hits over 5.1 innings on Thursday, walking three and striking out five in a loss to the A's. Note that he was 2-4 with a 5.40 ERA in all "night" games last year.
The bottom line: More questions than answers for both of these hurlers. We think these potent offenses become the main story line in tomorrow's summaries. Play the OVER.
