(NHL) New Jersey vs. St. Louis, 12/15/2016 3:00 PM, Score: 2 - 5
Total: 5.00 | 100.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* NON-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE YEAR on the UNDER between the New Jersey Devils and the St. Louis Blues.

REASONING: New Jersey is going to be especially motivated tonight after a humbling 5-0 road loss to the Rangers. St. Louis can empathize after a brutal 6-3 road loss at the hands of Nashville. New Jersey managed just 19 shots against New York. Goaltender Cory Schneider is now 9-12 with a 2.83 GAA. Note that Schneider owns a 1.93 GAA against St. Louis in eight career games. The Devils rank just 22nd in the league in scoring with an average of 2.39 GPG and they're also ranked 22nd defensively, conceding 2.89 (note that New Jersey is 11th on the penalty kill, allowing teams to convert on just 16.7 percent of their chances). St. Louis led 3-0 half way through its last game against the Predators, but then had a complete meltdown. Jake Allen is now 14-10 with a 2.52 GAA on the year. He's been awesome at home though, going 10-2 with a 1.79 GAA (note that he's 4-0 with a 1.00 GAA against the Devils in his career). St. Louis is ranked just 13th in the league in scoring at 2.70 GPG and is ranked 19th defensively, conceding 2.80 GPG. Note that New Jersey has seen the total go UNDER the number in six of ten in trying to revenge a loss against an opponent this year, while St. Louis has seen the total go UNDER the numer in four of six this season after allowing four goals or more in its previous contest. Both of these teams play with a chip on their shoulder today and this one falls UNDER once it's all said and done.
