The Ravens come into the new season having to make major adjustments, as Marcus Peters, J.K. Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards were all injured and lost for the year in the preseason.
LaMar Jackson is going to have to shoulder the load here. Last year the Ravens averaged 29.3 points.
The Ravens were fantastic defensively last season (allowed 18.9 points) and clearly the unit will also be leaned upon heavily this evening.
The Raiders finished second in the AFC West, but they missed the playoffs for a third straight year under coach Jon Gruden. This is a make or break season clearly. The Raiders averaged 27.1 PP, with Derek Carr under center, but the weak point was on the defensive side, as they conceded 29.9.
I think Las Vegas is going to struggle to move the ball when it does have it. I also expect Baltimore to run the ball a lot tonight while it's on offense, so as to keep the ball out of Carr's hands as much as possible.
There's no way Baltimore wants to turn this into a shootout, instead it wants to impose its will.
From a situational standpoint, this one definitely sets up as a lower-scoring UNDER.
