This is a 10* TOP SIDE on Kansas.
No outright victory, but I think that CC will take the foot off the gas in the second half, leaving the back door wide open for the Jayhawks to comfortably sneak in through down the stretch.
There was only one way the Jayhawks could go this season after finishing 0-9 last year. Kansas did come out and post a 17-14 win over South Dakota State in its opener, so that's a huge step in the right direction already. The Lance Leipold era has gotten out to a great start. Jared Bean played well under center, going 156 passing yards, two TD's and rushing for an additional 54.
Kansas allowed 46 PPG last year, so the 14 it conceded last week is also a positive sign.
The Chanticleers won their opener 52-14, getting 262 passing yards and a TD from Grayson McCall. Dating to last year CC has won 13 straight. The defense allowed just 14 points to Citadel.
CC gets caught looking past the Jayhawks to a bye week, followed by "cream puffs" against UMass and ULM.
I think the improved play of Kansas on both sides of the ball keeps them in this one late. Grab the points.
