After two straight losses, I like the Sox to bounce back here in the the third game of this four-game series.
Houston won 2-1 last night, scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Sox are 7-2 in their last nine in trying to revenge two straight losses to an opponent and they have to be feeling confident here that they can bounce back, as they send their ace to the mound in Lance Lynn, who is 7-2 with a 1.51 ERA. He comes in off his second loss ot he year, allowing three runs with eight strikeouts over six innings to the Rays.
It was only the second time in 12 starts that he's conceded more than two runs. Note that he's 1-0 with a 1.18 ERA on the road.
His counterpart today is Framber Valdez, who is 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA. He most recently allowed two runs over seven innings in a win over the soft-hitting Twins on Sunday. Valdez has looked great in his four starts this year, but I think regression is in order at some point, and that some point is today.
I like Lynn in this matchup for sure. This will be Valdez's stiffest test of the year and I say that Lynn is the correct call. Especially at this price.
Look for the revenge-minded WHITESOX to deliver on Saturday night.
