This is a 10* TOP FRIDAY TOTAL on the UNDER Tigers/Angels.
Neither of these starting pitchers instills a ton of confidence, but I still think this posted number is too high.
Jose Urena (2-6, 5.16 ERA) enters off his worst start of the season, allowing eight runs over just 1.2 innings in a blowout loss to the White Sox.
It's just too bad that Urena couldn't pitch on the road for every start, and too bad it couldn't always be at night, because he's done really well in those two positions, going 0-2 with a 7.47 ERA at home, but 2-4 with a repsectable 3.73 ERA on the road, and 0-5 with a 6.92 ERA in all day games and 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA in all night games.
Alex Cobb is 4-2 with a 4.98 ERA, and he comes in off a terrible outing as well, allowing five runs over three innings in a loss to Arizona on Saturday.
Cobb still owns a respectable 52:14 K:BB this year and there's no question that he's been much better at home (3.52 ERA), than on the road (6.72.)
Both pitchers are hungry to bounce back from their respective worst outings of the season.
Also note that the Angels have seen the total go UNDER in eight of their last 11 after playing to five or more straight OVERS in a row.
This number is a little high, the play is the UNDER.
