#211/212 ASA TOP PLAY ON 10* OVER 58 Points – Boise State vs San Jose State, Saturday at 4:00 PM ET - These teams met last season at San Jose State and the game totaled 94 points! While we are not expecting that many again this season, we are looking for plenty of fireworks once again in this Mountain West battle. The Spartans have scored an average of 33.3 points per game their last 3 games. San Jose State QB Starkel has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards this season while completing 70% of his passes and compiling a 9-2 TD-INT ratio. Boise State QB Bachmeier, as a freshman last season, put up some impressive numbers. This season already he has thrown for nearly 750 yards with a 5-1 TD-INT ratio in just 3 games - he missed two with an injury earlier this year. Bachmeier will take advantage of a San Jose State defense that hasn't been truly tested this season as they have faced some weak offenses. As for the Boise State defense, they have not been quite as dominant this season as in years past. The Broncos have allowed an average of 33.5 points in their 4 games since a dominant season opening win. Boise State has allowed an average of 306.5 passing yards per game in their match-ups with BYU and Hawaii. Of course when they faced Air Force (run-dominated offense) and Colorado State (struggling team), the numbers were much better against the pass . That is why this San Jose State aerial attack (averaging nearly 300 yards per game this season) is likely to give the Broncos D some trouble in this one just as other pass-happy teams have. This one has the makings of a back and forth shootout as the Spartans offense has helped lead the way to their undefeated start to this season! A lot of talent on that side of the ball for San Jose State but now their defense will now have its hands full with a very talented Boise State offense. The Broncos have scored at least 40 points in 4 of their 5 games this season and that was even with taking their foot off the gas at Hawaii last week. Boise State won't be able to take their foot off the gas here as the Spartans have a talented enough offense to hang around in this one. Also, look for both teams to take advantage of beautiful weather conditions in this one too. The early forecast for Saturday afternoon in Boise, ID is temperatures reaching into the 40s with no precipitation and no wind either! Shootout in Boise! Per our computer math modeling, both teams are likely getting into the 30's (40's likely for Boise) in this one and that means a very solid OVER expected here!
